Surgeons review Night
After the surgeon left we went to see Dave. He said that they did do an audio EEG and that there were spikes when there should have been which is good.Still don't know the extent of the damage but if there is one person who can fight their way out it is Dave. We are now doing the sit and wait till the brain's swelling goes down. It so surreal and hard but we will stay the course and do what is best for him. Mom, Matt, Brooke (cousin), and Debbie (Aunt) were in the room talking to Dave when Dad and I left. This is the hardest thing we have had to do in our life and I hope never to go through this again.

My husband and I are so happy to hear of his great progress. We are friends from Okinawa in the 33rd as many others on here. He is a great guy with a heart of gold, and we will continue to pray for his strength and the families faith.

ReplyDeleteI just want you to know you are in my constant thoughts and prayers. Know that I am praying for Dave's healing and for the doctors and medical staff in charge of his care. I am also praying for each of you as you deal with this very trying and difficult time in your lives. May God grant Dave healing and strength and may He give each of you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Praying for you Capt Wiz...it was really hard for all the Nellis guys over here to find out what was going on in real time. Hearing it over the radios and seeing the pictures as it was happening. I know you will pull through this...you are a very strong person and everyone is praying for your recovery!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you, your fam and soon-to-be wife,

I know Dave from the 66th and was shocked to hear about the incident. My family is praying for Dave and his family every day. I know this is a terrible time for the family as my daughter had a large, malignant brain tumor as a baby and had several brain surgeries that were touch and go. Years later the neurologist said she should have been blind and mute but she is not. While she has her challenges she is a happy vibrant child who brightens our day. In other words, the brain is an amazing thing and many times can eventually do what the medical professionals can't explain. Only GOD knows what the outcome of this will be, but I pray Dave will have the strength to recover more than the doctors could predict. Unfortunately it is a very long road, but Dave will make his journey one step at a time at his pace. Again, we pray for Dave everyday and hope for the best recovery. The Marler Family
ReplyDeleteLike many others on this page I worked with Dave or as I know him "Wiz" at the 33d in Okinawa. I deployed with him on our first deployment to Afghanistan in 2006. He is a wonderful person with a big heart and I pray for his speedy recovery. I know it is not easy, but we thank you for keeping us all updated on his progress through this blog. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Wisniewski Family,
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow military and Regina family we wanted to let you know you are in our daily thoughts and prayers. We wish there was more we could say or do for you to help comfort you all. We have read how strong David is and know he will have the strength to get through this with your love and support. Being a military man you know he is strong, determined, and stubborn! We will continue to pray for a full recovery and a quick return home!
God Bless,
Steve and Jodi Krueger

ReplyDeleteOnce part of the WC family, always part of the WC family. . . and David was one of "my kids!" Scott called to tell me of the incident, so I know he's praying, too. All things are possible with God. . . especially the impossible!!
Love and prayers,
