Sunday Night

It has been a very trying day. After sitting down and talking with the docs the results were yes he has brain waves, but the docs say it is minimal. They took him off fentonyl and are doing an 24 hour EEG to see if the brain activity changes while he is off the potent drug which could absorb into the fatty tissues after a prolonged period of use. They are taking him into surgery tomorrow to change the protective covering over the brain and to check and make sure there is no more dead brain tissue. Although not knowing how to read an EEG, when talking to him before we left there some spikes on one of the lines when we said names like Melisa, Mom, Dad, Matt, and Craig so we are going to think that is a good sign at least for tonight.
Once again thanks for the continued support for my brother and the family. No one will truly understand how greatly appreciated they are. I know deep down inside that if anyone can make it through this it is David because he is the strongest person I know.

  1. Thank you for keeping us posted. David's service to our country is appreciated beyond words. Know that more people than you can imagine are praying and sending good thoughts to David, Melisa, and all of your family.
    God bless you all,

  2. Thank you for keeping this blog for all of us who care so much for Wiz and his family. Our prayers haven't stopped and we will continue to keep Wiz and his family in our thoughts and prayers. We've known him since we were in Okinawa with him and he is a strong person. Know that the Croft family is praying for you all here in Vegas.

  3. We would like to say thank you for the support and prayers from family, friends, Air Force personnel and those who have cared for David. It will take time for Davids recovery. He is strong and a fighter. We are so proud to have David as our nephew. We know he believes in and loves being a Air Force Pilot for the search and recue team. Our hearts go out to the families of the men who did not survive. God bless them. We are praying for you all.
    Our love, thanks and sympathy.

    Chris and Rick Prucha

  4. My husband and I were with Dave in Japan as well. He is such an awesome man and we are praying daily that he will be blessed with strong doctors, nurses, family and friends. We hope that each day brings more and more good signs. Much love, Kelly, Chris, and Skylar Lacouture

  5. Thanx for the updates on the blog. I knew Dave (Wiz) when we were in Kadena. He's a great guy and Im sure he can pull through this
