David contributed so much to our mission out there. His flying was truly amazing. Thank you for sharing David (Wiz) with us. There are a great deal of people out there that owe their lives to David, and one Afghan soldier, in particular, who would have never survived had Wiz not been there. We'll miss your leadership, Airmanship and friendship.

Words seem so insufficient to express how much David will be missed. We were squadron-mates at USAFA and he was truly a great guy with a heart for Service and others. I have gone through and read multiple accounts of the events prior to the crash and I am so proud him. I am so sorry for your loss as a family and for his fiancee. Please know that my prayers are with your family during this time.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how sad I was to hear about David. I was his teacher (gifted program) at Paton Churdan when he was 12. I know it's not good to have favorites--but he was! I am not surprised to hear about what a amazing person he grew up to be. I have wondered about him and hoped he was happy with his life. I remember that even then he was interested in the military and in flying. He was smart and strong and made his dreams a reality. He knew I was a cyclone fan so he gave me a cyclone desk set which I still use after 20 years of teaching. So--I think about him each day. Prayers to all of you. Jill Trainum
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to friends, family, and colleagues past and present of David. I had the honor of being his SCUBA instructor and dive buddy here on Okinawa years ago.
